Charles Peterson not only invented the lip bite mouthpiece, also the ‘System’: An additional drilling below the smoke channel to collect condensate. All patent protection expires some day, and there have been a few copies around. But an original is an original. The PPP pipes are the epitome of a cool and mild on the tongue smoking experience.
It is not rare that ‘old’ companies change the owner from time to time. Tom Palmer enjoys his well earned retirement, and the American company Laudisi took over. The owner Sykes Wilford is also Petersons best customer. Good move! He and his team are complete pipe nerds. But in a positive way. They love and live pipes, and they are networked very well. Progress is not as fast as the aspired American tempo, but there are improvements in each new series. We are confident that the brand is in the best hands, and Peterson will relive its past glory.
In any case, we love the new rustication technique. The surface gets even more vibrant through the beautiful contrast and the subtle brilliance.
